Linda has been a creative craftsman and working artist for most of her adult life. Her professional career began more than 30 years ago, when she designed and manufactured a unique line of bean bag characters that were sold throughout the nation. She followed this with a successful launch of a sophisticated fabric and leather handbag business marketed to boutiques nationwide.

Linda then changed her artistic direction and began working with a small group of artists in Westchester who excelled in decorative and faux  painting  of  walls, floors, and ceilings for businesses and  homes. Her experience in this field  helped to develop her natural inclination for color, composition, pattern and design.

Along the way Linda rediscovered her love for fabric art, originally kindled by her soft sculpture business.  Four years ago, seeking direction and quite possibly inspiration, she had an epiphany upon entering a quilt shop. There on the walls was her answer …Quilts!  Brilliantly colored quilts!  Here was a medium that encompassed all her criteria for creative expression…fabric, color, thread, beads, yarns, stitches, even paint.  The combination of putting them together was endless. This  passion also fulfills her need to research her subjects and  to shop!  There is always more fabric to buy and embellishments to try.

Artist Statement:

My art is about my need to express the beauty of nature and the happy side of life. I like to experience the piece I am working on, be it the sensuousness of an art nouveau line, the magical mystery of an underwater scene, or a spot of color on an early spring walk.

To me quilt art is an organic process. There is a growth to it as each element is added.  I love the multi-layerd-ness of it ... layer upon layer to create a complex whole. I seek a symphony of lyrical lines, resonating color and harmonious relationships in my work.
