The Salon Seven
|
About the Salon Seven In August of 2004, Linda Schoenfeld invited some of her quilting friends, all members of The Northern Star Quilters' Guild, to her home for lunch and to share their works in progress. That lovely summer afternoon, "magic" filled the air as we critiqued elements of our designs, shared workshop information and new techniques and had an opportunity to talk about aspects of our lives that were difficult or exciting. We had such a wonderful time together that we didn't want it to end, so we decided to meet again . . . and again . . . and again! And so The Salon Seven came to be. Our meetings are usually held at each others' homes, but sometimes we meet at museums, other times at restaurants, art exhibits or quilt shows. Each time we meet, our connection to each other grows stronger and stronger. We've discovered things about each other, ourselves, and our art, that have helped us all to grow into better artists . . . and better human beings. We all feel so lucky to have this very special group of women as a part of our lives! Thanks to the foresight of the members who remembered to pack their digital cameras, we'd like to share some of the Salon Seven's special moments with you. We've also included press coverage and reviews we've received, and in "Comments" you'll find excerpts from our exhibits' visitor books. |
